My sweet baby Cade is 5 months old! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. Here are some things we know and love about CADE:

*He is really vocal and has an opinion about everything.

*He is always blowing spit bubbles or drooling.

*He LOVES his mama the most!

*He is super strong and has been army crawling for over a week. He is really fast and can crawl across a room in minutes.

*He loves water! He loves to bathe and swim in it and to drink it.

*He is a little stingey with his laughs but is overall a very happy boy!

*He is a big big boy wearing sizes 9-18months and size 3 diapers.

*He has been rolling from back to front for about 2 months and from front to back for about a month now.

*He loves his big brother! And I love to watch him admire Landon. I hope they become best friends.

Landon fights me every time I try and put jell in his hair, but today he was quite excited after I bribed him with the "just like daddy" phrase. He was quite proud of his new hairdo. I was having a hard time getting him to say still for a picture so again I used a daddy bribe by saying "lets show dada your hair" and this is the pic I got.

When I hold Cade in my arms I see a lot of resemblance to little baby Landon. It takes me back in time and I love it. However, when I compare these pictures of them at 5 weeks I can see how different some of their features are. One of those features being the shape their heads. Growing up my friend Tania and I would describe the shape of peoples heads as being either hamburgers (round) or hot dogs (long). I think Landon got my hamburger head and Cade got Dan's hot dog head. :)

Happy Easter!

We had a WONDERFUL and BUSY Easter weekend!!

Friday we headed up to Mesa with the Hoefferles to see the Easter Pageant. It was fun for Landon to spend time on the temple grounds and play with his cousins. My favorite moments were when Landon would point to the stage and yell "Jesus" and when Tyler would say "the end" after every scene.

On Saturday we were able to attend the temple. I love the temple!! And I love the Hoefferles for watching our boys so Dan and I could feel of the spirit and peace of the temple.

On Sunday baby Cade was blessed. We are so blessed to have him in our family. We love our little buddy! Sacrament meeting was lovely. Full of beautiful music and talks reminding us of the perfect life and sacrifice our Savior Jesus Christ made for us and most importantly that lives. After sacrament meeting we headed up to Globe to spend time with the Tidwells. Aunt Cin put on a little easter egg hunt for Landon. He LOVED finding eggs full of his favorite thing....."nandy".

Although the weekend was super buys with about 8 hours of it spent in the car...I am grateful to have had a weekend centered around Christ and to have enjoyed the company of almost every member of our family. Hope you had a WONDERFUL Easter too!

Sometimes Heavenly Father makes us look really hard for our blessings. Today is one of those days. Landon woke up crying at 4:45 am. Sometimes he will cry in the night but goes right back to sleep, this morning wasn't one of those times. I rocked him for a bit and put him back in bed once he fell asleep but he woke as soon as his head touched the pillow. Since it was far to early to be up and moving he came to bed with me. We snuggled real close for about an 1 hour before he decided enough was enough and it was time to get the day going. I felt like I had been hit by a bus. Sleep is something I NEED...especially when pregnant. I was not looking forward to the long day ahead.

Since my lesson on Sunday I have really been contemplating my blessings...blogging about them has also helped me to be more aware of them. Even with the dread of the super long day hanging over my head I couldn't help but be grateful for the opportunity to snuggle my little boy so close. I enjoyed listening to the rhythm of his stuffy nose breathing while he sucked his thumb. I loved his soft little hands stroking my arm and my face even though he occasionally got rough jamming a finger up my nose or pulling on my lips and hair. I love my little boy so much! I cherish the opportunities he gives me to snuggle even if it is at 5 am!!

I am also very grateful for my Mom who lives so close and offered to watch Landon this morning so I could get some much needed rest. And a sweet hubby who got ready for work very quietly while I slept. I am also grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who sometimes makes us work a little harder to recognize blessings that might not seem so obvious at times.

The week before Halloween we carved pumpkins with Grandma and Grandpa Hoefferle. We enjoyed a listening to spooky music, including Michael Jackson's Thriller, and sippin on some spiced apple cider. It was TONS of fun!!

Landon wasn't too sure about putting his hands in the slimy pumpkin guts. His favorite thing was to put the top on and off. He even attempted to put the seeds back into the pumpkin. :)

We had a blast a few weekends ago at the pumpkin patch. It was well worth the drive to Willcox to roam the great outdoors with Landon. And the weather was beautiful for once. :) Next time we might try early October to beat the crowds.

Landon thinks anything round is a ball and is meant to be thrown. You can tell from this video that he is the first and only son, grandson, and nephew in this family. Lol.

Our Month In Pictures

We have fallen off the blogging planet since Landon's birthday. Thought I would give a quick update with the few pictures that we have taken in the past month.

Landon has figured out how to climb.

We often find him sleeping in funny positions with his little bum in the air or his leg hanging out of the crib.

He loves to eat and we think he is too cute in nothing but his diaper and mix matched socks.

Landon enjoys making a mess whenever he can.

He is growing so big. Looking more and more like a toddler every day.

We took a trip to he zoo with some friends. He had a great time playing. His favorites were the tiger and the BIG fishes.

He loved to point out the animals and would usually say "daisy" which is the name of my parents dog. I guess he associates "daisy" as all animals.

We also enjoyed a day trip to Mt. Lemon with Aunt Cindy and Josh.

I can't believe my sweet baby boy turned ONE on August 20th. The day was filled with fun. We went shopping for a birthday outfit with Grandma Tidwell and then headed to Cup Cake for a yummy cupcake. Doesn't it look delicious!!

Landon was more interested in sharing than eating it himself. :) I think he had one bite of frosting and was done.

The next day we had a b-day bash. Landon got lots of fun toys and books. I feel like our house is exploding at the seems with singing baby toys.

We decided to try the cake thing again.....

He liked it much better this time. Ice cream must have made the difference. It looks super cute on his face!! At one point I went to take a bite of my piece and it was missing. Sneaky little boy stole my cake!!

We don't have any pictures but Landon even got to announce that he is going to be a big brother!! Dan and I gave him a book called "Big Brother" to open in front of everyone. We are really excited for the new addition to our little family. Landon has enriched our lives more that I could have expected and I can't wait to see what baby joys baby #2 will bring.

And for my memory some of the things our boy is up to at ONE:

*He loves his Blankey! Every morning when I walk into his room he holds his blanket up high and says "dankey"! His blankey also triggers a thumb in the moth reflex that is too cute.
*He loves bath time, swimming and playing in puddles.
*He LOVES to sneak a swig of soda from grandma.
*He enjoys going bye bye.....but doesn't like when mama or dada leave him behind.
*He loves talking on the phone!! Just about anything that is rectangle is a pretend phone for him.
*He has a bit of a temper and when something isn't working they way wants it he chucks it across the room.
*He has recently learned to pucker his lips when he kisses and even says "muah"!
*He gets his feelings hurt pretty easy and when he does his bottom lip puckers out. Hate to say that it is super cute!
*He loves my parents dog Jack!! Love love loves him. Whenever he sees a puppy he says Jack. When we pull into Grandmas house he usually says Jack. He really likes to play chase with Jack and is getting pretty good a running.
*He can open the toilet lid and has figured our how to flush the toilet. This is really a problem because we don't have a door on our master bathroom. It's quite a pain.
*He is quite the ham. He loves to put on a good performance for some attention.

Landon is the greatest little boy we could have asked for. We love him more than words can say!!!

Inspired!

Today I am felling inspired.....inspired to be a better friend, wife, and mother. To be a better me! Some things that have inspired me today are:

*Blogs of friends and family and people that I have never met. Although today it's mostly my sister-in-law Chanelle. She writes about striving to be better and it inspires me to be better.

*My awesome visiting teaching companion Julie. I want to grow up and be just like her. Love her!!

*My sweet baby boy who is constantly growing and learning new things....and always has a smile on his face or a kiss to give to his mommy.

*The restored gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A loving Heavenly Father and Savior. President Thomas S. Monson, his counselors and all the apostles who we are able to hear from on a regular basis. My testimony!

*My eternal companion.

*A very talented and creative friend.

*A family who is always willing to do anything big or small to help out with a moments notice (but mostly with no notice at all).

*A sister-in-law who has inspired a girl with hates to read to actually really really enjoy reading.

*My brother who is serving a mission in Australia with all of his heart, might and mind.

*My wonderful Behives! And the personal progress program.

Taking the time to list things that have inspired me today (or as it turns out.....listing my blessings) has really lifted my spirits and has motivated me to be better. Not only have I listed things that inspire me but I have created a list of personal goals to help me check in and keep track my progress of becoming a better friend, wife and mother. I think I would like to make this random list of inspirations a regular occurrence....maybe Wednesday's Inspirations? We shall see. Now I'm off to get started on my list of goals.

We started our busy month of May with Dan's graduation. He got his Bachelor's degree in Finance from the UofA or should I say Eller College of Business (they seem to think they are better than the plain old UofA).

We are so proud of him! It's nice to be done with school. No more late night papers or group meetings although I think we see him less now that he is working full time. Thanks for all that you do for our little family. We love you!!

9.5 months already!!!

Have 9 months already come and gone since we welcomed Landon into this world? It doesn't seem that long ago and yet it's so hard to imagine life without our little Turkey Lurkey. I know I have said that before but "time" really changes once you become a parent. Landon is such a good baby! He is so happy and full of personality. We are so blessed to have him in our family.

He is a big boy wearing 12-18 month clothing and a size 4 diaper. At his 9 month check up a few weeks ago he weighed 20lbs 1oz and is 28 1/8in long with 45.4cm head circumference. His eyes aren't quite as blue as they once were they are more of a blue/green. It will be interesting to see what color they end up being. We are thinking hazel. His hair keeps getting lighter and lighter. Might end up being a blondie like his Mommy. Poor little buddy still doesn't have any teeth, but that doesn't stoop him from eating lots of yummy foods like Chocolate Cheerios.

Landon has lots of fun tricks and it seems like he is adding new ones every week.

* When we ask for "kisses" he plants a big wet open mouth kiss right on our lips. It's so wonderful especially when we don't have to ask.
* When we say "YEA!!" he claps his hands.
* When any one (even strangers and the grocery store) say "Hi" he waves.
* He pulls himself up to stand on just about anything.
* He is getting faster and faster at crawling every day. Especially when he sees something he wants or a door opens to a room he shouldn't be in or when his diaper comes off.
* When we get him nice and balanced he can take 3 or 4 solid steps on his own.
* His latest trick is a hilarious scrunchy face (see video below).

Funny boy keeps us laughing all the time. We sure love our Little Boy Blue!!

Livin' BIG at the RITZ Carlton

So I guess Katie has been really busy, since the blog hasn't been updated for a while. She actually has been busy, with swimming lessons, Landon, and redoing our kitchen. So I guess it's my turn to step up and start doing some of this blogging.

A few weeks ago, we got to go with Katie's dad and volunteer at a fundraiser for the Arizona Children's Association. It was really a lot of fun, since it was a golf fundraiser held at the new Ritz Carlton here in Tucson at Dove Mountain. One of the cool parts, was that we got to spend the night prior to the fundraiser in a little (not really that little) casita.

So here is a day in the life of a Ritz baby.

These little glass bottles of ketchup are really funny! Leave it up to someone that doesn't need to worry about much else to want to their own individual glass bottle of ketchup.

Nothing beats cartoons in the morning on your very own HD TV!

And how about getting around the Ritz grounds? Travel around, in your BRAND NEW GOLF CART! (sounds like I'm on the Price-Is-Right!) Pretty cool that you can give a call at any time, and a guy with a golf cart will show up to chauffeur you to wherever you desire.

The bathroom was HUGE, big enough for a baby to enjoy

The views at the casita were pretty awesome. Landon during the last few weeks has perfected a few things, like standing up on his own with the support of an object, crawling, and walking with only one hand.

Unfortunately, when that picture was taken he still hadn't perfected the standing on his own, so he promptly fell over and got a big ol' welt on his head... So that's the family picture at the golf course, and you can't see it, but Landon has a big fat bruise on his head.

Nice big bed, but for some reason I slept HORRIBLY on it. Evidently, Landon slept just fine.

Our Recient Adventures

Dan and I finally got to go to the PIMA County Fair for the first time since the day we met 4 years ago. It was fun to go back with the same friends and our kiddos. Landon loved the petting zoo. The little goats were just his size.

This past weekend we had BEAUTIFUL weather. The Hoefferle's took advantage of it and had a picnic at Agua Caliente.

Exciting! Here is the schedule and pricing for my swimming lessons this summer. Each class will be a private 30 minute lesson, usually between 8 am and 12 pm. I am offering a $10 Sibling Discount for the sibling's full session.

My idea for the mom and baby classes is for a group to show up, preferably three moms and their weee-ones (but we can figure this out as we go), ages between 6 and 18 months.

I prefer teaching children ages 2-7 years old.

Summer Lovin'

You all know that I LOVE SUMMER!! I love the feeling of the warm summer sun on my skin and if I could I would totally live in a pool. Well this summer is going to be extra special because we have our very own pool! As much of a PAIN as it has been to own a pool, I think summer time is going to make it sooooo worth it!

When we were in contract to buy our house the pool pump burned out. And as new owners of a foreclosed home replacing the pool pump was not at the top of our to do list. After the blessing of tons of rain our pool turned green. And not just kinda green it turned a beautiful shade of emerald green.

SICK!!! With warm weather quickly approaching we decided we should probably start putting the pool at the top of our to do list. We replaced the pump and I tried my best to care for it. I got it to this point and decided we need some professional help.

And now it looks like this!!! It still isn't perfect but it is getting there. Isn't it beautiful? I'm tempted every day to jump in but it's still FREEZING!!

This summer I am going to be teaching swimming lessons and I'm really excited about it. I have been brainstorming all the details the past few days and I should have it all planned out by the end of the week. Let me know if you want more details.

And now for an update on our favorite lil' buddy! He is growing up too fast. This morning at breakfast he helped me put the spoon in his mouth. He would smile every time with a mouth full of food. It was adorable how proud he was!! He has a new smile where he shows off ALL of his gums (still no teeth but his gums are getting bumpy). It's really funny!

He hasn't started to crawl but he is an expert roller. He also LOVES to walk around holding our hands. He has pulled himself up on furniture a few times. We keep joking that he is going to walk before he crawls.

He loves to stand and with Mommy's assistance he is getting pretty good keeping his balance with the help of furniture. We wish he would learn to love practicing to crawl as much as he loves to practice standing and walking. Don't you just LOVE chubby baby legs and bum in tight jammies.

Dan has also been requesting that I post before and after pictures of our house and pool. I was really bad at taking before and after pictures. We really miss the newborn days when Landon would sleep on us like this all the time. Dan is lucky to be experiencing it again!

Landon loves his Baby Einstein "Baby's First Sounds" DVD. He will happily sit and watch the whole 30min DVD all by himself. It's the one time where he doesn't require my attention or toys to keep him happy. I can always tell when his pal the Bee is on the screen because he lets our a squeal of excitement and flaps his arms up and down. Baby Einstein is a daily treat for both Landon and Mommy.

It's hard to believe that my sweet baby boy is 6 months old today. Time has really flown by and yet it's hard to remember life with out him.

Landon's First Christmas

Warning: This post contains an exuberant amount of pictures of our little guy....but what else would you expect it was our first child's first Christmas.

We started our the holiday season off by picking our a Christmas tree at the Khalil Bottling tree lot, a Tidwell family tradition.

Landon got to meet Santa at our ward Christmas party and...

our family played Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus in the Nativity.

The Christmas festivities began with Landon admiring the presents under the Hoefferle's tree on Christmas Eve.

Landon's first Christmas present...an adorable photo album from Aunt Andrea. It went straight to his mouth. He sure loves it.

My friend Tania took some 3month pictures of Landon a couple weeks ago. I love this boy!! He never smiles when we get our camera but he had no problem smiling for Tania.

A few weeks ago we went out to dinner and this is how we found Landon in the backseat when we got home. LOL!! Poor little guy. His hat is too big.

Today is Landon's 3 month Birthday and look what he figured out........

Landon has been trying to figure out how to suck his thumb for weeks!! I have caught him doing it several times today. We are proud of you baby boy!! On a side note look how blue his eyes are looking. Love it!!

12 weeks!!

It's hard to believe that my baby boy is 12 weeks old. Where has the time gone? He is learning new things and growing new rolls everyday. Here are 12 things about Landon at 12 weeks.

1. He has the most contagious gummy smile.
2. He skipped 3month size clothing and went straight to 6month size.
3. He thinks his momma his pretty funny and will occasionally laugh at her.
4. He is very happy and talkative in the morning and not not so pleasant in the late afternoon.
5. He as rolled from his tummy to his side a couple of times.
6. He gets a little better at reaching and grabbing toys everyday.

7. He would much rather stand than sit!
8. Thanks to Aunt Cindy he is becoming quite the Wildcat fan and has enough U of A outfits to wear everyday of the week. And he has already been to his first U of A football game.
9. He looks a lot like his Grandpa Tidwell....Don't you think??

10. He loves to eat his hands and tries everyday to suck his thumb.
11. He already has his Daddy wrapped around his finger and can get pretty much whatever he wants from him. ;)
12. He has the best Grandma's and Grandpa's who love to spoil him and give him lots of kisses.

Life in the Hofferle home (oh wait we don't have one) has been a bit chaotic the past few weeks. We recently purchased a house and while we paint and fix things up we have been living out of laundry baskets at my parents house. Our camera is packed away somewhere so here are some pics we have taken the past 2 weeks with my moms camera. I hope to get caught up with the blog once we get settled in our new home!!

Landon has had tons of fun spending lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa. He is getting so big!!

He spend his first Halloween Trunk or Treating with Uncle Josh. He looks a bit like a little convict.

Landon has enjoyed lounging in his PJs.

He is becoming a very silly boy and loves to laugh and smile but for some reason he gets very serious when the camera comes out.

I wish I had my own bumbo for bath time.

MARRIAGE!!

The Hatch and Hoefferle families will unite some day thanks to an arranged marriage planned for Sadie and Landon. The marriage has been in the works long before either of them were born. Sure Sadie is 1 year and 3 months older than Landon, but we still have hope.

Sadie really likes Landon and wants to hold him and play with him and tries to give him toys and books to hold. Landon on the other hand is a typical boy and is completely oblivious.

I love how they have similiar arm positions and facial expressions in this picture. It's meant to be. :)

5 Weeks!

Today Landon is 5 weeks old! Here are some of the things we know and love about him.
* he loves his binky
* he apparently doesn't like to wear clean diapers because he dirties them within seconds of being changed
* he is a nursing champ...he has gained close to 3lbs since birth and has developed some super cute leg rolls to prove it
* he must think he is "really, really, ridiculously good looking" because he is constantly striking the Zoolander pose
* he loves bath and shower time
* he likes to be burped even when their is no burp inside
* he loves when the ladies at church tell him he is the most beautiful/handsome baby boy they have ever seen (or is it mommy and daddy who love to hear that?)
* he likes to have his hands by his face and occasionally enjoys sticking a finger in his eye
* he loves music especially Guster (daddy is very proud)
* he is ticklish especially on his little feet
* when he falls asleep he likes to give us a few super huge gummy smiles
* he is super strong and has been able to hold his head up since day one
* he would prefer to sleep in bed with mommy and daddy and really likes it when mommy lets him after his second feeding in the night (mommy secretly likes it too)
* his is a typical boy and grunts all the time

Landon is the sweetest baby boy and is super fun! We are so blessed to have him in our life. We are excited to get to know him better as his little personality continues to develop and shine.

My baby boy will be 5 weeks tomorrow. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. I better document the experience before it becomes more of a blur than it already is. The next few posts will be dedicated to our little boy and our new life as parents.

Labor/Delivery

Our new journey into parenthood all started the night of Wednesday August 19th when I started having contractions. The contractions weren't super painful but they were pretty frequent so Dan and I started timing them around 9:00pm. They were coming consistently every 4-6minutes for 2 hours. Dan thought we should head down to the hospital but I wasn't convinced I was in labor because they were not strong enough. So we went to bed and when I was about to get up and get ready to go to the hospital the contractions stopped and I fell asleep. Around 4:00am the contractions started up again and they were super painful. I decided to get up and watch some TV to see if it was the real deal and as soon as I did they stopped again. LAME!! I eventually went back to bed. When I got up in the morning the weak consistent contractions started up again. I went to the bathroom and had some bloody show and it kinda freaked me out. After talking to my mom I decided to call my nurse. The nurse told me that since I had bloody show and my weak contractions were coming every 5minutes I should head down to the hospital. So around 10:00am we left our apartment and life as we knew it.

The triage nurse got me all hooked up to monitor my contractions and checked my cervix....I was only 3cm. So after monitoring my contractions for a while she called my Dr to see what steps we should take. My Dr happened to be at the hospital that day and told me I could either go home or they could take me up to labor/deliver break my water and hook me up to pitosen to get things going. Dan and I really struggled to decided what to do. I didn't really want to go home because I wanted my Dr to deliver the baby and she was going out of town the next morning......I think Dan and I both really wanted to pick the second option but didn't want to admit to it because it felt like we would be cheating if they hooked me up to pitosen that day. Our triage nurse was really awesome and said "if you decided to have the baby today I will be you nurse."She said it in a way that was like "please decided to have the baby today I want to be your nusre and I want to get out of triage." So we headed up to labor and delivery!!

Around 1:00pm they hooked me up to pitosen. The baby and I took to it really well and the contractions got stronger and stronger. Around 4 my Dr came and broke my water (the most paiful part of it all) and just after I got an epidural. I loved the epidural!! I don't know why people opt to go natural. Around 6:00pm my Dr went home to pack for her trip and said she would come back when it was time to deliver. At that point I was dilated to 6cm. Just before 7:00pm I was talking to Dan and told him I had a weird feeling. It felt like I had to go to the bathroom. Just then my nurse came to check on me one last time before she went home for the night......and I was 10cm!!! It was time to have the baby!!! At that moment I felt so overwhelmed with emotion. I wanted to laugh and cry and be scared out of my mind all at the same time.

Before calling my Dr the nurse had me push one time to see what would happen and his little head full of hair appeared. She had another nurse call my Dr to see what she wanted us to do. My Dr wanted to deliver the baby and had us wait for her. So there I sat for 20 minutes in the birthing position waiting for my Dr. When she finally got there I only had to push through 2 contractions and our baby boy was born at 7:37pm. I remember thinking "Wow! That was a piece of cake!" The Dr and all the nursing staff kept telling me that I was built to make babies.

Recovery

The first night in the hospital was miserable!! Our little boy would not latch on. He would root like a little bird and as soon as he opened his mouth he would stop and sometimes fall asleep. He just wouldn't suck. I felt so helpless not being able to feed my baby. My awful nurse didn't help the situation at all!! She was really rude and would force him on to me when he was screaming and she was yell at him and tell him "NO" when he would start to fall asleep. I wanted to tell her to go away and not to treat my precocious little boy like that. Since Landon wouldn't latch on they had to poke his little foot every 2 hours to make sure his sugars were at an ok level (poor little guy has scars from this). Around 5am they brought in a breast pump and made me give him formula. Luckily the morning came and we got a new nurse and the wost night of my life ended.

The next day and night (Friday) Landon still wouldn't latch on but I was able to pump enough to feed him. I remember feeling so alone and being so scared that night thinking and crying "how can I take this baby home tomorrow if I can't even feed him." It was the worst feeling in the world. I prayed so hard that night and the next morning we had the most amazing nurse. She gave me some pointers and Landon latched on right away. I was so happy!! And thankful to my Heavenly Father for answering my prayers. He still wasn't very good and nursing but at least I knew with some practice we could get the hang of it.

Last week my friend Tania took some maternity pictures for us. These are some of my favorites. I am 37 weeks and 3 days prego in these pics.

These next two are a tribute to graduating before having a baby!

We are getting so excited for this baby boy to come into our lives. I had my last doctor appointment today. LAST ONE!! It was weird leaving the office without scheduling a new appointment. I'm due Saturday the 29th and since my doctor doesn't like letting women go too far past their due date she gave use the option to deliver (be induced) early the week after my due date or a few days before. We picked next Wednesday the 26th. ONE WEEK from TODAY! (It works best with Dan's school schedule) It's exciting knowing that I only have one week (or less) left unless this little boy decides to come sooner, which is a possibility because I'm at 3cm already. Sadly we still don't have a name picked out for sure. I guess we will just have to meet him first.

I finally got the pictures from the sonogram scanned and uploaded. I think he is going to be one cute kid and am so excited for him to come. It's been really fun knowing that he is a BOY! I have been dreaming up nursery plans and getting in on mega clothing deals at thrift stores. I've also started reading to him. The other day a lady recommended that pick out a few books and read them to him daily. That way when he comes and I read them it will be comforting to him. It has been really fun and has helped me to feel connected to him and has caused my love for him to grow so much. We will see how it works.

Over rodeo break we got to escape Tucson and go to Pinetop with my family. It was lots of fun. We relaxed by watching movies, doing puzzles, playing games, and sleeping in. One day we went to a snow hill and did some tubing. It was lots of fun! We didn't get very many pictures because we were having fun with the video camera. I might upload some sometime when I get the time and patients.

Dan, with the help of some family members, got me a video camera for my birthday. It's really cool and will be a great thing to have once our baby comes. I'm still trying to figure out how to work it. This is a video of my dog (well my parents dog) Jack and one of his puppies Daisy. He is playing with one of her toys and she really wants it. I think its pretty cute. I'm still don't enjoy hearing my own voice so feel free to turn the volume way way down. :)

Baby update: We went to the doctor two weeks ago and heard the little heart beat. It was really fast and cute. My doctor said the normal range is somewhere between 120 and 160. Our little peanut's heart rate was in the high 150's to low 160's. She said that most people say that means it's a girl and most people say it means it's a boy. LOL. So we still have a 50/50 chance of either a boy or a girl. I love my doctor, she is great!

Dan and I are expecting our first little baby and we are sooooo EXCITED! We went to the doctor for the first time yesterday and got to see our baby for the first time! I am 9 weeks and the baby measures at exactly the right size 2.28 centimeters. I was disappointed when the nurse said it was too early to hear the heart beat but I think seeing the heart beat was just as cool. Our baby is already taking after it's daddy cause it was movin' and a shakin' the whole time. The baby is due August 29th.

Roosevelt Tour

During our Thanksgiving break I had a chance to take Dan on a tour of Roosevelt. Both of my parents are from Roosevelt. I spent my first year or so of life living in Roosevelt in the bunk house at the Tidwell Ranch. The Tidwells have since moved to Globe but the Carters still live in Roosevelt. Josh and I took Dan to see the Tonto Cliff Dwellings (they actually let you hike up into the cliff dwelling), the Roosevelt Lake Visitor Center and we drove across the Roosevelt Lake Bridge (the largest two way arch bridge in North America). I remember going as a little girl to see the bridge when it first opened because my Grandpa Tidwell accidentally shut the car door on my finger and we couldn't get the door to open up. I think that lead to my first experience swallowing a pain pill. Even though it was very painful, I am now grateful it happened because I probably wouldn't have remembered the outing otherwise.

Sprecher is our absolute favorite root beer! Several months ago Safeway stopped selling it and we were heartbroken. We searched everywhere for it and came to the conclusion that it was no longer being sold in AZ. For Dan's birthday I thought I would surprise him and order some online but with shipping it was going to be $30 for a six pack. LAME! Well the other day my dad said he went to BevMo and bought a bunch of different types of root beer. Dan and I went to the fridge to check out the selection and what did we see.....a beautiful bottle of SPRECHERS!!! So to all of those root beer lovers out there stop by your local BevMo and give Sprecher a try. (Their Cream Soda is excellent too!)

Side note: Dan and I are going to go see the midnight showing to Twilight tonight. I am so excited. I should be studying for an exam I have tomorrow but I'm too excited to concentrate. This will be my first time going to a midnight showing of a movie. I'll report back tomorrow and let you know how it goes. :)

We carved pumpkins with the Hoefferles on Tuesday night! It was lots of fun! I wish I was more talented! As you can see my pumpkin had a rotten bottom and had some unwanted guests living in him. YUCK. It made my tummy hurt a little but I kept carving any way. I think they turned out pretty great!!

Labor Day Weekend

Hey. Things have been so busy with school and family in town that I haven't had time to post pictures from our labor day camping trip. Dan and I went camping one night during labor day weekend with my family up on Mt. Lemon. It was lots of fun! We ate yummy food, went hiking, slept in a massive storm in a leaky tent, and enjoyed cool weather for a change.

The Last San Francisco Post......I Promise

On our last day of tourist action we went to Alamo Square. It's a park with some really cute Victorian style houses across street. You might recognize them from the opening credits of Full House. That honestly the only reason why I wanted to go and see them. Its crazy to think that people actually live there. I think it would be annoying to look out your window constantly seeing people taking pictures on you door step. After that we went to Fort Point to get a good view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was really cool to be right underneath the bridge. It looked huge. The weather was beautiful for most of the trip but out at the beach near the bridge it was soooooo windy and freezing. We hung out on the beach for a while. It was so relaxing. I wish I could have gone swimming, but the water was ice cold! So that pretty much sums up our vacation. It was so much fun. I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to take time off and be together for a few days.

San Franciso (day 2)

Its the weekend!! And it's a long one too. I'm so excited. So that means that I have time to post more pictures from our vacation. So the second day of our trip we went back out to downtown San Francisco to see the things we missed the first day. Especially because I didn't want to leave without song to the Top of the Mark (my grandpas favorite place in SF). Since we didn't go down towards fisherman's wharf there weren't as many tourists, which we enjoyed. We went to a really cool market place that had some cool shops and over looked the bay bridge. The bay bridge is crazy long and it's double-decker. Pretty cool looking. While we were waiting for Top of the Mark to open we went to Grace Cathedral. It was very beautiful and had gorgeous stained glass on the inside. Then it was off to Top of the Mark for lunch. Top of the Mark is a restaurant at the top of the Mark Hopkins hotel. It was one of my Grandpa Tidwells favorite places to go have a drink, so in his memory I had a Shirley Temple (cherry sprite). It was the most expensive lunch I think we have ever had but the amazing 360 degree view of the city made it worth it. After that we went to China Town. It was like a Chinese Mexico and I wasn't too impressed. I guess my expectations were set to high. That evening we went with our friend Todd, who we were staying with, to Google for a tour and dinner. It was a very cool and interesting place. I bet it would be pretty fun to work there.

San Francisco (day 1)

We had such a blast on our trip to San Francisco. I wish it could have been longer! We spent 3 days seeing the sites of the BIG city. The first day we took BART, the subway, to downtown San Francisco. Dan said it reminded him of riding the subway in Hungary except it was a lot cleaner in Hungary. When we got downtown we stood in a crazy long line to purchase tickes to ride the cable car further into the city. While in line a nice old man and his wife approached us and give us their passes that they weren't able to use anymore. We thought that was great cause it saved us money and time because we didn't have to wait in the line anymore. The cable car was lots of fun, It's crazy how those things can go up and down such steep hills. The cable car dropped us off at the top of Lombard Street. The craziest most windy street ever. After the hike down Lombard Street we went to Ghirardelli Square. We had the BEST hot fudge sunday. Sooooo yummy! After filling our tummies with yummy chocolate we walked along Fisherman's Warf. It was almost like being in Mexico with all of the little shops along the street. Along the way we bought some super cool sunglasses. We walked down several piers to check out the view of the ocean. Our favorite was Pier 39 because of the seals. They were so funny to listen and watch. Here are the pictures from our first day. First Day of School

Yesterday was Dan's first day at the Eller College of Business at the U of A. He was so excited to finally be at the "big boy" school. I don't know how excited he is about it now because tonight is only the 2nd night and he has been doing homework for HOURS. Someday this picture will serve as proof and a reminder that at one point he was actually excited to be going Eller.

Our Old/New Chairs

Dan and I inherited our kitchen table and chairs from my Great-grandma. We were very grateful to have them but the pattern was a bit outdated and not our style at all. So a few weeks ago I decided to try out my craft skills and recover them. My mom just sent me the pictures, so I thought I would share them. (The aqua stripe pattern is the new fabric.)

It was much easier that I expected and fun too. They turned out really good. We are way happy with our "new" chairs!

Just For You Chanelle!

Last night I made these jalapeños (stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in baccon) after seeing them on my sister-in-laws blog. They were yummy, but I have to admit some of them were too HOT for us to handle. They were a nice snack to eat while watching the Olympics opening ceremony. (Amazing!) Olympics are my favorite, especially swimming! I've even got Dan into following the craziness of Michael Phelps. :)

San Francisco Here We Come!

It's official we are going to San Francisco! We bought our plane tickets a few days ago and we are super excited! I've wanted to see the Golden Gate Bridge ever since I was a little girl and Full House was my favorite TV show, I cant wait finally see it! It will be a vacation much needed before the fall semester, after a long summer of 4 summer school classes and Dan's full time job. Stay tuned for some pics in the next few weeks.

I finally decided to do something with this blog. Dan and I love looking at blogs to see pictures our family and friends showing off their babies. SO a few months ago I decided to make a blog hoping it would help "inspire" Dan to start increasing our family size so we could post pictures of our little one. Well here we are with no baby coming anytime soon (I need to finish up school first) and an empty blog...How boring!! SO in the meantime I am going to try my hardest to get this blog thing down so that my future baby will have the greatest blog EVER!
